Why 2016 it the year of the Hybrid : More companies are requiring a mix of technology and people skills get prepared for the hybrid job. Researchers from Bentley University examined 24 million job listings, looking for key skills across nine industries. They found that employers want multifaceted employees who possess hard skills such as database technology, coupled with traditional soft skills like communication and collaboration.  Read more…

Tech jobs that pay the most:  IT-related jobs make up 44% of Glassdoor's annual ranking of the top 25 highest paid jobs in America. While physician still holds the No. 1 spot, 11 of the 25 top-paying jobs on this year's list are in IT.

Glassdoor's annual list is based on salary reports from its 30 million unique visitors. Positions that received fewer than 75 salary reports between January 24, 2015, and January 23, 2016, were excluded from the list. Some job titles were "normalized" in order to achieve consistency across titles, and C-level titles were excluded from the list.  Read more...

How to create behavioral interview questions that don’t give away the answer:  The first rule of creating behavioral interview questions is that they do not end with a question mark. They are not questions at all but more a sentence asking that the candidate reflect on past experiences.

Behavioral interviewing is a type of interviewing based on the belief that a person’s recent past experience is the best predictor of future performance. On the surface, this makes a lot of sense to ensure the best quality of hire. So interview questions should be designed to understand a person’s past experience in a similar situation to yours.
